I love this story, and I love the woman's passive aggression :) Thanks for sharing -- I needed the smile. :)

I didn't realize that rainbow lights = intolerance and oppression. Learn something new every day! /snark

“Then I walked inside [my house] and rage-ate a bowl of nachos.”

I can totally relate to this.

Great story, thank you for sharing.

But of course! Voting for Trump is a desperate cry of forgotten working-class souls, but nonviolent resistance to bigotry is the real oppression! Thank God Reddit is around to set the record straight on these complex issues of humanity.

Anyway, this lady is boss. Made me dust off this ridiculous icon.

Not only is this win, but..what was the neighbor honestly thinking would happen moving to Seattle in the hopes of finding similarly intolerant people? I mean obviously there are people like that scattered everywhere no matter how supposedly blue the state is (coming from someone who lives in a state that's been blue since 1992 up until this election >.> <.<), but..the fact remains that Washington hasn't gone red since 1984 with Reagan and is known for being fairly liberal and the reasoning just doesn't make sense lol

MTE, where did she move from where she didn't understand Washington's political climate?

I moved to the Olympia/Lacey area two years ago, and I am *still* adjusting to how different it is here, compared to AL, where I grew up, rural TN, where I moved to after that, or WV, where I moved to after TN.

It's kind of amazing, except for the part where I'm struggling to shed a lifetime's worth of behaviours meant to avoid being noticeable as any kind of 'not normal'. Case in point - I get panicky holding my girlfriend's hand in public, even though I rationally know it's highly unlikely I'll get attacked for it here.
