i'm really terrified about what this means for H1-B visas. it's the only way i'm going to be able to stay in the country and both Trump and Bannon say they want to get rid of them. at least some of the more establishment Rs won't get rid of them because of the effects on tech companies.
of course, i'm also just terrified in general about what this means for everything, but you know.
During their private White House meeting on Thursday, [President] Obama walked his successor through the duties of running the country, and Mr. Trump seemed surprised by the scope, said people familiar with the meeting. Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term.
The man ran for president for a year and a half, and is surprised that the presidency is such a big job. Meanwhile, his aides were under the impression that the Obama staffers would stick around and be working for them now.
i will admit one of the few things that made me smile last week was an article that was nothing but pictures of trump touring the white house looking utterly, abjectly miserable, petulant, terrified. it was fucking delightfuli'm finding it waaaaaaay less funny that a man who literally knows nothing about the job just managed to shout and rabble-rouse his way into the position, but at this point, all i can do is look forward and
