Newt Gingrich to Fox's Megyn Kelly: 'You are fascinated with sex'

The feud between Donald Trump's campaign and the news media took a new and heated turn Tuesday night. This time it played out between former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a prime Trump spokesman, and Megyn Kelly, the Fox News host who was at the center of Trump's first major blow-up with the media during the Republican primary.

Newt embodies the exact problem within the Republican party. They seriously need to get their shite together and stop always attacking women. It's so repulsive.

How about we not equate sex with sexual assault, Newt and many many men like you? Maybe then the "obsession" with not getting harmed will make sense to you.

Yes, thank you. I'm really freaked out by how republicans keep trying to minimize the tape by calling it words or whatever. They either don't know the difference between sex and sexual assault or they do know and they're pretending they don't and both options are terrifying.

I really hate how they keep saying "voters don't want to talk about this, they want to talk about issues" like sexual assault isn't an incredibly important issue.

Heard my BIL say "Girls say way worse in their locker rooms, OMG." We'll see what he says when (because it is a when, not an if) some jerk gets handsy with my 12-yo niece and tries to say "Well, Donald trump said it was okay! She's only a bitch, why shouldn't I?"

IDK what locker rooms he grew up in. Where I grew up, you were ashamed to have it become public knowledge that you had the morals of an alley cat. Bit he thinks my sister and I grew up in Mayberry, while he grew up in "the real world".

right? these kinds of statements make it so easy to see that men like newt, roger, trump, and so many of their supports, their surrogates, etc. believe that 1) sexual assault doesn't exist because they're entitled to touch women however they want 2) if it does exist in 'rare cases', it isn't of real, political concern and 3) it doesn't count as violence. and there needs to be more pushback on this idea that sexualized violence is just frivolous distraction from "real issues" as if large majorities of society are not at risk of experiencing that in their lifetime.
