Google starts highlighting fact-checks in News

Today Google added a new “fact-check” tag to its popular Google News service. The site aggregates popular timely news from multiple sources and has traditionally grouped them with tags like “opinion,” “local source” and “highly cited.” Now readers can see highlighted fact-checks right next to trending stories.

Very interesting article.

I'll admit that while I do have a Facebook account, I think it's been about 2 years since I last logged in. (I consider that site to really be a cesspool in many ways.)

I did NOT know that there are so many people who get their 'news' from Facebook. Yikes.

Fact-checking is obviously really important. :)
