This Monday, Mother Jones’ Kevin Drum posted an odd piece entitled “The Progressive Case for Hillary Clinton is Pretty Overwhelming.” Presented as a barely-readable laundry list of 84 (!) examples of Clinton’s supposed progressive bona fides, the piece read as if Drum asked “why hilary clinton good ??” on Yahoo! Obligatory fuck Scalia!

I'll say that unless you pick an obviously partisan judge, it's actually hard to know where they stand. I'm pretty sure Republicans thought Kennedy would go their way more than he has so far (obligatory fuck Citizen' United tho), and that Roberts and O' Connor wouldn't have abandoned them in their hour of political need (although, O' Conner walked her shit back soon enough).

But I've noticed more judges of a conservative nature's inclination toward the liberal, yes even Scalia, happens a great deal more than the opposite, so the more liberal judges, the more I believe they convince the conservative judges to get their shit together.

Srsly. The last time we had a left leaning Supreme Court was the beginning of the Reagan administration, over 30 years ago. If this gets screwed up, we'll be stuck with one for *another* 30 years, given lifetime appointments. There is a distinct chance this will not happen again in my life span...

Don't like the erosion of the Voting Rights Act? Citizens United? Increased restrictions on reproductive freedom? That's the SCOTUS for you.

In a time of divided government, the Court is actually the most influential branch with the longest lasting effects.
