I love the mansplain-y peak-White dismissiveness of systemic, shady UK coverups these historians have. They wail about her research and interviews, as if what she says is Just. Not. Possible. then, when evidence shows ups, they want to act all equanimious and be all like "So? it happened? I still don't think it was on purpose". Goal posting moving at its shitty finest and so fucking White Imperialist in their thinking, I don't know how historians try to act like they are just objective, logical researchers when they pull this shit.

Elkins is an "unlikely" person to be caught in this storm of criticism because of her lower middle class background? Marx would have said she's exactly the sort of person who upsets the apple cart. If she'd been Kenyan, she'd have been ignored. If she was more privileged than she was, she likely wouldn't have pursued the topic.
