Good for him. A white man can go on about how horrible this country is, win the republican nomination and still be considered patriotic. A biracial man expresses disapproval of the horrible things this country has done, but he gets threats of violence and is called every racist word in the book.
it's so interesting to me how when minorities are discriminated against people shriek and call it freedom of speech. someone doesn't stand for the pledge of alliegence? they're ungrateful swine who should leave this country! even though the people who use freedom of speech to discriminate against minorities tend to bitch about this country a hell of a lot lately and how obama ruined it and everything is so pc and obama started a race war, etc.
I shared an article about this on a left wing facebook page I run, and apparently our post got shared on some right wing page or something, because we've been absolutely flooded with angry 50 year-old racists. Pretty sure this is by far the most people I've had to ban in a 24 hour period. It's really disturbing how angry this is making some people.
I enjoy sports but hate sports culture and the over the top patriotism that for some reason comes with it.
