This is amazingly classist.

I know many people who are more interested in people than events or ideas. It's the way it's been for centuries, frankly.

Holding those who are more interested in people -- gossipers, if you will -- in contempt doesn't help. Sitting down and speaking to them as human beings does.

Most of the people I know are planning to vote for Hillary Clinton because they understand that a loose cannon on deck does more damage to its own side.

folks have been complaining about americans choosing mindless entertainment over more refined, sophisticated fare for forever. it's more of the same except packaged as some kind of political warning.

Suffice it to say, picking and choosing channels and shows on those channels is not a very good or logical way of analyzing trends. Nor is pretending that producers weren't framing things on radio, or tv when it started. From all accounts, Kennedy was well aware that he was projecting an image, during the Nixon-Kennedy debates. Pomp and Circumstance, panem et circenses is a Roman artifact. Like?
