Inspiring as Semenya’s words were, the truth is that her competitors don’t all think like she does. Britain’s Lynsey Sharp, who finished sixth, was congratulated on Twitter by her team-mate, Nigel Levine, who wrote “Happy for Lynsey Sharp for coming 3rd in women 800m”.

so not only should Semenya should be disqualified, but the women who came in 2nd and 3rd as well. "Three willowy white women were robbed because..." Is that what he's trying to say?

That's EXACTLY what he's trying to say. dreadedcandiru2 August 22 2016, 13:28:23 UTC

Many things frustrate me about this topic, but the fact that most articles call "intersex" really puts me off. Because her condition is what women with PCOS have, and it makes me very uncomfortable that people, for the sake of not excluding anyone, are starting to call any person (in this case women) with a medical abnormality “intersex”.

It is also unfair that women in the future may be told that they can’t compete with other women unless they are all on “equal footing”, these people are the best of the best, and none of them are there just because they train hard, when you get to the Olympic level, everyone has a unique set of features that allows them to get to that level.

Um, please educate yourself. Having PCOS and being intersex are completely different things. I have PCOS but I am not intersex; there are many people who are intersex who do not have PCOS.

Caster Semenya's biological advantage makes the competition unfair. I think we should ban women with high levels of testosterone. And people born with longer legs. And people born with better hand-eye coordination. And...

*sigh*

"In 2013 it was revealed that four young female athletes from developing countries, all with atypically high but entirely natural levels of testosterone, were sent to a clinic in France where doctors proposed removing their gonads and partially removing their clitorises. All four agreed, and a year later they returned to competition."

FGM. They want people to undergo FGM in order to be allowed to compete. THE FUCK?

I don't know how I feel about this. Because if one argues that genetic advantage shouldn't be penalized then why shouldn't men and women compete together?
