Also, I'm liking the idea of using lasers to remove whatever this is. All I can think of is a couple of people pointing laser guns at the memorial saying "pew pew" as they work.
I was hoping that the article was going to state that the slime monster looked as though it had tree-like branches under magnification, but no. No "tree surgery" tag. Though the "why was this approved" tag makes up for it.
And rewrite the whole Bible because Deism (which is great for when you want to argue with people when they claim up and down that FOUNDING FATHERS CHRISTIAN SAINTS!!)
2) I'm wondering whether it could be cleaned with something like mild laser light (to kill the organism), and then just soap and water scrubbing to remove the dead residue.

but imo it is one of the prettier memorials as far construction and location so I can see people picking it clueless to how horrible he is.
