When I asked if she practices Islam, she said, "I practice the values of humanity. These values are also mentioned in Islam: to be honest, to help the poor."

perfect. the world needs more of this.

She stands by the Syrian Arab Army. The world will be better off without her in it.

I believe it's true, unfortunately, although her argument is more complex than that (but doesn't make her right, in light of everything the Syrian Army has done). She's received criticism from people for it. Here's a link with more: http://angryarab.blogspot.com/2013/01/leila-khaled-on-syria.html

That's a very interesting link, thank you! That does explain her reasoning, although I'm with you in saying that that doesn't justify her stance.

She does make some really interesting points though.
