It would still be the best way to deal with all this because the only other good answer is stop making gendered bathrooms at all just one big bathroom for all.

That is what they said for making stadiums and buildings handicapped accessible, but they pushed it through, and it worked. idgaf how "difficult" it is, it's the best solution.

Plus, unisex/family bathrooms benefit everyone, not just gnc folks, it benefits fathers with small children, parents with children who have developmental difficulties, adults who have medical concerns which makes regular bathrooms difficult, and other people who special needs. It is time to stop making excuses, and start doing something that benefits everyone, regardless of the difficulty.

I think Obama's use of Title X to encompass trans people is a brilliant move in a congressional climate where it's impossible for ENDA to ever get passed, but I've always suspected it unfortunately wouldn't hold up in the courts. :/ Given the limited power of the executive branch without the support of Congress, he's done an incredible amount for trans people. Unfortunately it was pretty much all through executive order so Trump says he'd repeal it all on day 1.

We've been winning school bathroom cases via Title IX for *years* at local levels, possibly since before Obama took office, but definitely for at least five years. I am just so incredibly pissed off right now.
