A recent incident has sparked outrage.
On July 11, in the Una municipality of the Gir Somnath area in Gujarat, four members of a Dalit caste family were thrashed by a vigilante mob. If only they could make those people who did this awful crime be the ones to clean up carcasses from the streets for the rest of their lives, and their property be sold to help support the victims and their families.

This is really horrific and more really needs to be done to end caste-based discrimination. I was reading that this is actually a problem elsewhere in the world as well (the U.K. in particular has begun to consider this issue, largely as a result of caste patterns being reproduced there after immigration ( ... )
