also people need to understand that racism and ableism can intersect, and this is the case. i am deaf, black, and autistic and tbh, i am terrified that a police officer would think i'm not complying either because i didn't hear them, or didn't understand what they wanted from me, or thought i was "acting wrong"
I just wanted to (belatedly) say that this was a really great comment. Your comment about intersectionality with regards to racism and ableism was such an important point.
I also pray you stay safe, given the way things are now.
Also I 100% agree with OP's note. My sister studied criminology and they heard from police speakers and some of the things they describe doing to poc are horrific, especially towards our indigenous population who get treated like crap.
