The way that they treated the one LGBT person on the committee was pretty bad. Plus there's the fact that they want public schools to teach about the Bible, saying "a good understanding of the Bible being indispensable to the development of an educated citizenry." Ugh.

well yeah. but we probably won't see any real, real change until the rural areas finally have less control. with the gop out of the way, that would make room for a viable progressive party. i always thought it was the existence of the republican party and their continued stranglehold on this country was more at fault for things than democratic voters not waking up and voting for "real" progressives.
