RBG Just Risked Her Legacy to Insult Trump

Jul 13, 2016 19:46

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has decided to take a stand against a major party’s presidential candidate in a way that she-and arguably no prior justice-has ever done before. Over the course of several interviews, the justice has spent the last few days hammering Donald Trump for his reckless campaign and outrageous policies, suggesting that a ( Read more... )

After Scalia's political actions, I think this is more in the newspapers desperately trying to find a controversy that isn't Trump doing something awful. "Fair and Blanced" and all that.

Plus you know, a woman having opinions.

Came in just to make sure someone mentioned Scalia's political involvement. Thank you for being the first comment.

Also... Where's the scathing Trump comments about Thomas's wife being a lobbyist? Sharing an opinion as in RBG's case vs. being married to an active lobbyist... Hmm... 🤔

I'm glad she spoke out, no one should stay silent in the face of Trump and his bigotry.

(Also, man, this article needs some editorial work...)

I don't think there are going to be enough articles involving RBG in the future to merit a dedicated tag. Her stuff can already be found by searching supreme court/scotus.

I see your logic, and I wouldn't have suggested it, except for the fact that we have tags for some of the other justice, as follows:

Clarence Thomas (6 uses)
Elena Kagan (11 uses)
John Roberts (13 uses)
Sonia Sotomayor (39 uses)

I didn't take the time to look at actual posts, but I assume the tags for Kagan, Roberts, and Sotomayor were probably created when they were in the process of being appointed/approved by the Senate. (Thomas, who the hell knows, lol?)

I just thought I'd point this out in case the mods weren't aware. So now that I have, what do you think? Do we need tags for all of these others if we're not going to have one for RBG? Shouldn't it be all or none? (Except maybe in the case of Roberts, since he occupies a different position as Chief Justice--much as I dislike the guy!)

Tia for taking this into consideration.
