I've always admired how Ginsburg could be friends with someone who seemed so fundamentally different from her. I absolutely adore reading her writing.

We must wrap her in bubble wrap so no harm can come to her.

That's something that has always made me feel a little wary of her. I don't find it admirable that she could call a person who used the constitution and his seat of power to regularly stomp on the rights of minority groups a good friend; I find it very odd.

I guess the reason why I admire it is because I would just fly into a blind rage when confronted by someone who's values align with Scalia's, to the point where I just couldn't really make a good argument in response to their stuff. She kept a cool head and was able to see beyond his career. Granted, I feel like she also has an easier time than most doing this because they were friends since they were pretty young, even before they both because Supreme Court Justices I believe. There's just a lot more history between the two than I think people see.

I totally get being wary of it though. But I always feel disappointed seeing people surrounded by a support group that isn't diverse and just a team of yes-men, I feel like this is more interesting and could also be more intellectually stimulating. But I'm probably reading way too much into all this, haha.

Ugh, I don't want to envision it either. Scary stuff.

Can we, like, transplant her brain and personality into the body of a young tortoise, thus ensuring her presence on the court for another hundred and fifty years?
