That sucks that that happened. I had trouble scheduling an appointment and my doc's office gave me a 1-month renewal with the caveat that I had to come to my appointment for the rest of the year's script.

I hope this initiative goes beyond the city. I live in central NY and I'd love for this to happen across the country, like we can't help that we have periods and not having any protection from it is horrible. I always bring pads with me in case anyone needs one.

Amazing! Nice to see this being approached as the public health issue that it is, instead of just like a chance to make money off of our biology.

Some dumbass guy in comments at the source was like 'and where can i get free condoms, huh?' like - no one gives out free condoms!! what about the menz!!!'

And considering condoms are to do with *sex*, and menstruation really, really is *not* (except in some cases).... Not an apt comparison, dude, and go to your local PP or clinic, they hand the damn things out like candy.
