I like that he always points out that you have to play the long game and it's not a one time call/vote and your done. You have to keep at it to build support and really see any change. More people need to realize and do that.

Also the video doesn't seem to be playing for whatever reason.

I think I, and a great many people in the States, are in the unfortunate position where our states looks blue, but it's more polka-dotted blue cities with a red background. Our Reps will listen to the NRA and the gun nuts (not the more responsible gun owners that carefully lock up their guns around kids).

I also believe it's not just money that's keeping them from passing gun control. There might be an undercurrent in people's minds that they just want to be able to kill others quickly. They want some of the ultimate control and power that someone can have.

Culturally, we need to unpick the ways that masculinity and patriotism/nationalism are tethered to gun ownership in the US. It's impossible to have a reasonable conversation with people who equate not having guns to having their dicks cut off, or tantamount to surrendering to The Communists, The Terrorists, or whatever the boogeyman flavor of the decade is.

I'd also love to see consistent, hard push back against the False Flag narrative and these conspiracy theories about all mass shootings being elaborate hoaxes complete with hired actors and no actual loss of life. It's bad enough that so many people in the US resign themselves to gun violence being an unavoidable side-effect of ~upholding the Constitution~ but seeing people sink to the level of vehemently denying that anyone ever *really* dies from gunfire en masse just hammers at whatever remaining faith I have in humanity.
