You're missing the last 4 lines of the article, and need an lj cut for length.

There's a signup prompt that breaks up the article, so it's possible you didn't notice them upon first read. (This is less the fault of the reader and more a problem with the hot mess that is WP's page design)

Yes, I'm sure that's why when the filibuster was going on he was too busy to attend! Too busy "campaigning actively"! Just like how he was too busy to answer questions regarding the problems in Venezuela! Or too busy to release tax returns!

He's plenty shitty in general! At least Hillary was saying praising Castro for the way he governed Cuba or going around talking about the success of socialism in Venezuela! Bread lines for all!

This seems like a weird thing to complain about, especially for costs. Secret Service guys are salaried -- it's not like they hired brand new people to watch Bernie, and if they were following him around they'd be detailed somewhere else. I know the airline tickets are a cost, and there's probably per diem involved, but $38,000 a day has to include staff costs, or it doesn't add up, and I'm not sure that's legit. I'd never consider voting for the dude and it still just seems like a weaksauce argument.

I know the OP has a serious hate-on for Sanders, so this was probably just a retalitory post in answer to wavvy's.

STUFF THAT BUGS ME THAT WE PAY FOR:
- the stupid Congresspeople who are all like "MEDICARE FOR ALL IS EVIL!!" and yet get govt sponsored healthcare as part of their package
- Congresspeople that vote for raises when they work less than a summer job part-timer do
- Y are we paying for weapons to other countries y like Israel can probably use some defensive measures but I don't wanna keep selling them explosive shit
- I didn't sign on to pay for Liberty University to receive public funding i mean hello it's a private religious college that emphasizes religious values
- oil subsidies (aka u pay us or we'll jack up the prices and take away your lobbying money)
- farm subsidies that don't go to farmers but to big corporations that DGAF about farmers

Also last I checked all former presidentes get the Secret Service treatment do you really want to tell me that Bush Jr needs protection while he hides in his home and paints puppies?

Any time the conversation shifts to "WHY ARE MY TAX DOLLARS PAYING FOR THIS" I want to just turn off for the day. Doesn't matter if it's in Canada or the US. More than half the time, the ones bellowing that line of argument are thinking only of what they think they're owed. They're people I'd never want to share the same political party with.

....Yep. That's what I'm actually going for.

Which is to say picking and poking at what is paid for and what isn't is a deep minefield of "well I like this but not that wait do we even pay for that too?" and generally speaking no one leaves happy.

(also fwiw any time you see me posting with either letters left off and/or CAPS LOCK OF RAEG it's me indicating that I'm doing parody or my point is buried way beneath a lot of sarcasm and not to be taken too seriously. If it helps out at all.)

Oh, that was just a general rant since you brought it up! Not directed at you. I know you're generally pretty cool. :) But I appreciate the clarification!

Y'know given the level of raging anti-semites rearing their ugly heads this election I don't blame him for wanting to hold on to his detail for as long as possible. I'm sure he's had death threats.

This was a very interesting article OP, thanks for sharing!
