Because the NRA.

They raise hell about ANY law that has to do with access to guns, regardless of how logical and sensible it may sound to the rest of us. Because, THEY claim, anything short of ANY person being able to obtain ANY kind of weapon at ANY time, for ANY reason is a threat to the second amendment. (Which it's not, but try and tell the NRA that. RME)

The NRA is absolutely disgusting.

My guess they'll do a voice vote and fine it failed to pass (which even Murphy said it wouldn't), that way they get what they want and no one is on record of voting against it.
