MOSCOW, June 13 Ultra-nationalist and schooled in their country's historical grievances, Russian soccer hooligans see themselves as fighting the Kremlin's geopolitical battles in miniature when they clash with foreign fans at the Euro 2016 tournament.

My X-BIL is Mexican. When we took him to a Colorado Rockies-New York Mets baseball game, the first thing he noticed was that everyone was sitting mixed up together. He had to explain to my sister at at a UNAM Pumas-Cruz Azul soccer match, the Pumas fans get one side of the stadium, and the Cruz Azul fans get the other. She couldn't understand it.
