Seems like the easiest fix is increase the maximum taxable earnings or get rid of the maximum altogether. The max of $118k is ridiculous. If you're rich enough you clear that in a month or two and then don't contribute to Social Security for the rest of the year. Treat it like income tax where you pay a percentage every paycheck with no maximum.
