I live in San Antonio and while ordinarily I love and miss storms, this rain is ridiculous. Still not as bad as in Houston though, apparently some of my in-laws had to evacuate their house because of the flooding.

this makes me very happy. the world is so inaccessible, able-bodied people don't even realise it. they'll say things like "ugh why is this closed captioned, turn it off", use bathroom stalls or parking areas that are for disabled people, and not see a problem with it...until they become part of our community.

Something similar just happened in my mom's hometown, for an adult. In that case it wasn't even a funding issue, but a zoning change needed. I told her mom and friends to write to the board and it worked! As someone whose job is literally all about accessibility and diversity in the outdoors, it makes me happy!
