None of this surprises me about Johnny Depp. He's a huge Polanski supporter and the moment I found that out I refused to watch his movies, even ones I previously enjoyed. He's been violent before, so I absolutely believe Amber. Depp can bring out his PR team in full force all he wants, it only makes him look worse and further solidifies my belief in Amber.
I'm so sick and tired of scumbags, celebrity or not, being violent assholes and getting away with it because they do something else well. Or, hell, they don't even have to do the other thing well, they can be shit at it and still get away with violence.
I need to remember this quote because it's perfect.
I've been reading every post in ontd about this, because the comments are so overwhelmingly in amber's favor and the few trolls/mras get shut down pretty quickly, but I'm not reading the comments anywhere else cause i'm not trying to live under my bed for the rest of my life.
I really hope Amber can still salvage her career after this.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Depp say in a vid that rape cant happen from someone you know? Like, he said its only stranger rape but no one close to you is capable if raping you?
Also, people defending this pile of garbage can fuck right off a cliff. I cant believe a friend of mine, someone I've known for over ten years, came at my tweet with "but there's no evidence!!!". Out of all the people, I never expected it to come from him. I am so angry.
Yes he did. He was defending Polanski and said something along the lines of Polanski is a family man and not some creepo lurking behind a bush waiting to attack women.
love this post, its so depressing how often abusers get away with this. even when there is clearly evidence on the victim's side. the fact people often speculate that she had to harm herself in order to make it look like he was horrible is disgusting.
its a shame how often we try to teach individuals to stand up and come front when it comes to such cases yet the moment someone speaks up saying hey so/so is hurting me everyone turns around and blames the person saying its their fault, they just want attention, etc.
i hate how many people often side with abusers even when there is more evidence and you can just tell by how much the victim changes physically and mentally. as someone who was in an emotional/abusive relationship before its devastating to see how often victims are treated :/
