This is really needed. Japan is a very insular country and very harsh when it comes to foreigners. Happy to exploit their labour but not willing to extend many rights.

Well, it is better than nothing, good for them.

Although I still hate that in English the Kokkai is called a 'Diet'. Kokkai is perfectly easy to say in English /pet peeve.
