I agree with you OP. Sanders needs to back off and just run out the states, and get as many delegates as he can for the convention. Forget about all this nonsense. It's just silly at this point. I do understand his wanting to get the superdelegates from the states he won, but he doesn't have to announce that he is doing so. He should try to focus on downticket and influencing the party platform.

I wouldn't say he doesn't give a shit, it's more that he needed the money for the primary, but now that it's clearly over he doesn't really have an excuse not to try and get more progressives elected. His money is drying up. It's time to accept defeat and work more on what he can achieve. I think he has been getting some bad advice during this whole campaign, honestly.

I agree. I don't want to say his name, but much like a certain orange businessman, in some ways it seems like the Sanders campaign didn't expect to get this far and didn't have a plan for this far into the primary. Which is sad, because I think he could have done a lot better if they were better organized.

All the condescending bitching in the comments already is exactly why I'm glad he's contesting this. He's got the independent voters on his side as well as a significant percentage of people registered Democrat. The primary system disenfranchises a lot of voters and Hillary's supporters need to stop acting like Sanders doesn't deserve to contest the nomination.

I seem to remember another Democratic candidate contesting the convention in 2008 because she just "couldn't let it go" and was "such a sore loser." What was her name? Oh yeah....

You mean the one who got SLAMMED for doing that?

If Bernie comes out and does what Hillary did in '08 all will be forgiven. (As in nominate her by accumulation and aggressively campagin for her)

Oh Bernie. Don't ruin your legacy and the good you've done so far. This just looks pathetic.

I agree with both of you. I didn't have the nerve to come out and say it in the o.p., but oh boy, do I agree!
