spares Cleveland the possibility of a federal civil rights trial that could have brought new attention to Tamir’s death and to the city’s troubled police force.

The part of this case that infuriates me the most is that the fucker that shot Tamir Rice should NEVER have been on the job. He had been fired from the Independence police force (the city where I work) because he was deemed too immature to be an officer. According to his last fitness report, he couldn't follow simple instructions and had trouble recalling even simple events. He tried to get hired in Parma Heights (where I LIVE) and tried to get a job with the county sheriff's office and they both said no. Then Cleveland, which is apparently run by total giblet-heads, hired him. Either they checked his previous employments and said "Eh, he's good enough for us" or they didn't. Either way they hired a total fuckup who lied about giving the kid multiple warnings, and throughout ALL of this you have these dime-store fuckos contorting themselves into new and ugly shapes trying to blame Tamir and put a halo on the cop.

Can you tell I'm still pissed as all hell about this?
