Tempted to use one of a the dozens of Frank Underwood quotes for this but I'll just say: power. During the government shutdown, he looked like a star on the rise with more power than he should've had. (OK I'll use one. "Proximity to power deludes some into thinking they wield it.")

I get the whole 'power' thing but.... I just cannot imagine the attraction to 'power' (which is, really, a pretty arbitrary thing) would overcome his essential rabid-weasel-ness.

Plus he's married and is all Xian-holier-than-thou. You'd never really be able to *use* that power/privilege, since he's be in super-sekrit-squirrel mode at all times.

I dunno - things like this just baffle me.

Him needing to hide it is what gives you power over him, though. I was only in DC for a year, but from what I saw if you're not born into the kind of power people like him or the Clintons have, you fuck your way into it.

100% they did. Ted Cruz's campaign used those semi-naked pics of Melania Trump to convince Mormons to vote for Cruz in Utah and Dump has been stewing about it so he deployed the dirt he had on Ted. He also said he has dirt on Heidi Cruz (who also gives me the creeps) so that ought to be fun. Let them devour each other.
