MSNBC has been so disappointing, as has CNN, I don't think I need to bring up FOX--

There's just no good news stations anymore; except maybe PBS

I'd love to have more options, lol.

MSNBC used to be my go-to for news that was reasonably unbiased, but ever since they let Olbermann go, I've noticed a slow but steady decline in the tone and quality of the reporting and this is just the latest victim.

lol Olbermann was extremely biased tho?? I enjoyed his show but it was very forcefully an opinion show

and actually I think a lot of the post-Olbermann stuff has been great-- the rise of Rachel to the lead for the network, Chris Hayes, Ed Schultz (when he was there) and MHP (when she was there).

The real trouble at MSNBC started when they let Ed Schultz go and demoted Al Sharpton to replace them with Brian Williams.

Olbermann set the tone. Maddow and the rest of them wouldn't have gotten in the door without him. Maddow and O'Donnel were brought in by Olbermann as his guest hosts and were then given their own shows. Once he was gone, it went downhill.

Olbermann's been gone a really long time though, and I think they were at their best when their lineup was Ed Schultz-Al Sharpton-Hardball-Chris Hayes-Rachel-O'Donnell (minus the Hardball part lol but at least Matthews' diarrhea of the mouth can be entertaining).

The Olbermann era was really pretty dull outside of Olbermann. Rachel got her show very shortly before he was canned but it was after he left that the network went the most left. They're shifting back now and while Olbermann was the first, his era was not the really progressive one for MSNBC.

i wonder if MSNBC effectively canceling MHP has anything to do with appeasing some of the right-wing voices they've been courting lately. lord knows MHP has been a punching bag for the right in the past.

lol, that's so sad. They're only trying to get right wing viewers because they're the only ones who want to watch most of this drivel

speaking of which MSNBC just hired Ted Cruz's disgraced former campaign spokesman: http://theslot.jezebel.com/ted-cruzs-fired-campaign-spokesman-rick-tyler-got-a-job-1761593123

the whole network is in shambles.

I don't think they are. The ENTIRE network is about the election, no show has been spared.

I get where Melissa is coming from but I swear until November after the election, all of their shows will be about the election, MHP isn't being exempt from that which is sad but ... people must like the election coverage

I was wondering what had happened b/c the show disappeared and there wasn't any talk of it being cancelled. I hope she can get her show back. She brought up a lot of good points and dialogue, I enjoyed watching it a lot.
Also fuck MSNBC.

MSNBC is basically the only cable news channel I watch and there has been a clear change from normal programming to election coverage. Idk why Melissa thought she'd be exempt. I get that she wants creative control but literally anyone who watches MSNBC shouldn't be surprised.

Their daytime programming is called "The Place for Politics 2016" from like 6am to 5pm with the various hosts during their time frames like Tamron Hall @ 11 and then all of the shows following 5pm literally are just about the primary.

I feel for her but ... it is what it is.

And I should add, I lost some respect for her after her interview with Rachel Dolezal.

Haven't watched her much because of the time frame but I feel the same. She left a bad taste in my mouth. Now when I am up early for that time, it doesn't even cross my mind to see if she's on.
