AHHH!!!! I'm so glad you found an article about this-- I mean, not the part about them force feeding prisoners, because that it fucked up-- I mean the ~silver lining~ about them finally trying to close it down. When I was a sophomore in College (so fuck, like 2006?), my prof made us do a "critical thinking" essay about Guantanamo and "enhanced interrogation" and it was really one of those assignments that I can say defined my morals. I want it shut down so fucking much.
Every damn thing about that place is revolting. This is just a the fucking cherry on top. I hope whatever (Democratic, fucking please) President is elected next gets that hateful, revolting place shut down for good.
I don't know. He's been trying his damnedest, and getting blocked at every turn, plus there is a real difficulty releasing these men to countries who don't see them as 'threats', even though they have not been convicted of one damn thing.
It's just a gigantic cluster-fuck and the place needs to be evacuated and bombed into rubble.
