I know it's a bit petty be annoyed by this, but Finland has been doing these debates forever. This isn't a revolutionary thing exactly.

That article also has a somewhat irritating general air of surprise that political procedures in Foreignia might possibly be not only similar, but perhaps even occasionally superiour to US ones, even though the US are the pinnacle of Democracy and Freedom.

I remember watching the first Obama inauguration on CNN, and the way they went on about how only in the US, political power was gracefully handed over in such a peaceful and dignify way, you'd think that Angela Merkel assassinated Gerhard Schröder in 2005 or keeps him locked up in some dark basement somewhere.

LOL About the Schröder assassination.

But yeah, the Two Party-system is so seriously flawed in regards of varying opinions that are part of the political agenda and discourse. I'm so happy that Germany branched out of its trilogy with the Greens in the 80ies.
