Some judges across the state had already signaled they would do nothing to aid gay couples and, in some instances, any couples. “Marriage licenses and ceremonies are no longer available at the Pike County Probate Office,” the office said.

This has to be the most immature, "I'm taking my ball and going home" bullshit I've seen in a long time.

Seriously though, I'm very confused as to how this guy managed to get back on the bench. He was removed from the Alabama Supreme Court in 2003 (at least, that's how I read it) and then he somehow manages to get elected back in 2013? Like somehow getting removed from the bench by the judicial system doesn't somehow disqualify you from trying again? Idk someone explain it to me.

I would bet Judge Moore would win the governorship if he chose to run. he's a defender of state rights and religious freedom, he's a hero down there right now.
