Like, thirty judges have said already that same sex unions bans can"t withstand Constitutional scrutiny. Why do we still waist time and money?

Because that's how the system is set up, unfortunately. Each individual state has its own laws about marriage, so the process has to happen in each of the states that has made a law against same-sex marriage.

It IS a lot of time and money, but I don't think there's any way around it.
