I read an article in a magazine recently, discussing the clinic restrictions and what it meant for women in rural Texas. It was absolutely horrifying, the things these desperate women were willing to do and were forced to do to seek help. Using the internet or going over the border to purchase medications from Mexico, in an effort to cause miscarriages. Doctors having to turn them away, until they could come back having caused themselves serious harm in an effort to self-abort. Having no access to any reproductive care within hundreds of miles.

It is Grade A bullshit, and this continued assault on Abortion is going to get women fucking killed. These shitstains, of course, want women to suffer for daring to go against being forced incubators.

"We want to protect unborn children from death," Tobias said. "We want to protect the women who are going to be harmed by abortion. It might not be an immediate physical reaction. There are long-term physical consequences, long-term mental and emotional consequences to abortion. This is about protecting women and children."

Every time I hear this faux concern about "the long term mental and emotional harm brought about by abortion" I wonder how much of it is actually caused not by the abortion but by the actions and attitudes of the anti-abortion crowd.

"But it's not up to the state, or at least it shouldn't be up to the state, to make it easier for women to kill their unborn children," Tobias said.

It isn't up to the state to make it harder for women to get legal medical care.

I don't need a man to protect me from anything. I have my own mind and I can make decisions for myself. Oh wait. I'm just a woman. Silly me. Its up to my husband to do all the thinking for me!

Ugh.
