Police in Charlotte, North Carolina, arrested a black LGBT activist and former state Senate candidate Monday, saying that he violated a city ordinance by distributing literature about voting rights and candidates on parked cars

tbf I know nothing about how it (is supposed to?) works currently, but it really seems like the whole way of how police are held accountable for their actions needs to be remodelled or something. Like, generally speaking on these things that are happening all the time, that seems like some very basic and useful place to start some progress.
