I want to laugh at idiots like this, but I just can't. There are so many books out there that are crap, but I feel such a deep, visceral hatred for any suggestion of banning ANY books (not talking about libraries selecting age-appropriate materials, which makes sense; you don't want fifth graders trying to tackle Mein Kampf).

The other reason is that children who are taught the difference between fact and fiction are capable of reading these kinds of books and being able to enjoy imagination and good storytelling without meddling from assholes like this dude.

Yes, because books that encourage acceptance and friendship are so evil.

I know right!

Oh how dare books that encourage those things exist! How dare anyone be friends with anyone different or even just anyone!

If you're having sexual feelings towards Dobby, banning Harry Potter ain't going to solve your problems.

Seriously, though, Dobby is not a minion of Satan. This assclown can build a bridge and get over himself.

I do censor my kids' media. I don't let them watch Repo! The Genetic Opera. But that's a little on the extreme side of things. Up there with Saw (in fact made by the creators of Saw). And they're 3 and 6.

I had similar restrictions. And I read Stephen King's It when I was 12. That book was... mature. And I read one of De Sade's books years ago. I'm not sure anyone is ever old enough to read him.

Sounds suspiciously to me like The King of Saints Tabernacle needs money. This entire crusade has "pay attention to meeeeee" written all over it.
