Just when I thought I couldn't hate John Boehner any more than I already did.

Blind trusts aren't really blind if the people using them don't honor the intent. Boehner and Camp might not be up to date on all the daily details, but I'm sure they're in the know for the major deals (and it's entirely possible that a transaction only worth $15,000 or $50,000 might not be major for them) and review their portfolios on a regular basis. We could get rid of a lot of the conflict of interest issues if all government employees in positions from which they could influence laws and policies were required to divest themselves of all stock market investments and invested only in treasury bills, government bonds, and CDs and if we shut the revolving door between government and Wall Street/big business. Maybe then we'd see some real action addressing the personal and corporate tax avoidance/inversion laws and the economy.

Don't really see the big deal, honestly. Entirely legal and far less egregious than Pelosi's trading of Visa stock (of which she owns more than $1 million worth) around the time that the credit card bill was defeated that nobody seemed to care about...
