Here in the States, making threatening remarks about the President is generally one of the fastest ways to get the Secret Service on your door. Or at least it used to be -- I haven't heard of anybody actually being arrested for threatening President Obama via Twitter, which is unfortunate.
And I know of at least one criminal who went to a local PD facebook page to taunt them and ended up giving away his location. I think that was Maryland or Rhode Island.
Well OP, in America the #1 way to get arrested is to not be white. Other than that, drugs, jaywalking, actually telling the cops on FB that you committed a crime, or robbing a gas station or something.
We have a uk tag; I think that would be a useful addition to this.
Also, it's not completely clear to those of us who don't have an immediate association with the term "Metropolitan Police" what locality is involved here. As a dumb yank, I had didn't know what it mean myself, so I googled and found this--so we're talking about London, right? Just making sure. :)
