Man attacked for defending women from catcallers

A man who police say tried to defend a group of women from catcallers landed in the hospital after he was brutally assaulted in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square early Saturday morning.

It sucks that this guy did the right thing (calling some assholes out on their objectifying of these women) and ended up getting hurt as a result. I hope they find the douchebags involved and they are charged with assault.

That's terrible. Rittenhouse is one of the nicest areas in Philadelphia too... Not that I haven't been cat called at all hours of the night in Rittenhouse...or other "nice" areas, because I have been. But it just goes to show you that Philly isn't really the city of brotherly love...

This just proves to me how this is related not to sex or attraction but to power. These assholes didn't like that some other guy was speaking up to defend these women and he got knocked out for it. I hope this guy presses charges! You can't report street harassment but you can sure report this!
