Yup - seems pretty win-win all around, and the longer it's around and the more successful it is the more gives the lie to the meme that poor people (and especially the most poor, the homeless) are all too lazy, criminal, or whatever else to be good employees.

I think that's what enrages me most of all--the prevalent attitude that homeless people are all drug addicts/alcoholics/mentally ill/lazy and "deserve what they get," when in reality most of us, with just the right set of kicks to the head, can end up in the same situation.

If that wasn't a bit far away from me, I would definitely go there to support them. I'm happy to see that Colorado is doing things like this. I met a lot of the local homeless people in Boulder when I was working out there. Some of them sell a local newspaper called The Voice, which just has a suggested donation of $2. A woman I saw every day selling it told me she'd made enough money to get herself an apartment, from selling that paper. If you're ever out in Boulder and you see someone selling those, please show some support! :)

Portland had (probably still does, I just moved away 2 years ago so can't confirm) a similar paper called Street Roots.
