I'm working on my last mini-update before my move to Silver Spring in two weeks! Uuuugh, I hate packing, and I definitely don't want to break down my studio, but my new studio space gets such good light and has hardwood floors!
Anyhow, I'm really proud of how a few pieces from this update turned out. The big purple labradorite is HUGE-- the size of my palm!
Oh my god. I just wandered over to your shop and now I'm wishing hungrily for payday, because those are some of the most ethereal, beautiful designs I've ever seen. You're amazingly talented.
I'm completely arses and elbows right now with more deadlines than I know what to do with. My answer? Take up my abandoned World of Warcraft habit again. BECAUSE PROCRASTINATION AND ENDLESS REP GRINDS FIX EVERYTHING.

If you want, chaya, I can help with shenanigans friday. I get up pretty early in the morning and I have a loaded arsenal of gifs.
Anywho, for those of you who may or may not remember my World of Warcraft fic, Twelve Women of Azeroth, I finished the first of the twelve stories (goblin story)! I'm doing the human one next, but I'm trying to get myself on a system so I can have predictable weekly updates.
In other news, I need to work on my MFA applications, I need to work on a children's story, and I may be going to Japan this Thanksgiving. Yay!
My doctor is great overall, but one of those ones that is SUPER HARSH about weight and always makes me feel bad if I have gained weight since my last visit. Totally nailed today, got praised instead of the annual guilt.
Sore from yesterday's workout, but feeling like a champ.
I think the main difference this time is having a routine (gym is two minutes from the department, so I go after work every morning) and that the calorie tracker isn't one that super-guilts you like so many of them do.
you know, it's funny...i'm pretty sure i've been battling my weight for most of my 20s and it wasn't until i was 32 that i figured out that this doesn't have to involve self-loathing as motivation. like - yes, i don't like the thing, let's fix the thing, but shame need not be involved and i have no time for anything that uses that for prompting.
You and me both. My twenties saw me start packing on the pounds, between medications and thyroid issues, and working at McDonalds. (S-sob.) Looking back at pictures of myself in my teens and early 20s, I realize how distorted my perception of myself really was. I always thought I needed to lose weight, but I looked fantastic.
I tried calorie counting stuff before, but always quit because there was so much negativity involved and I found myself so anxious about food I started thinking about skipping meals.
The good thing is that come August, my gym membership will be free. Since the officers are required to stay in good condition, the department pays for them and they decided to just go ahead and cover us office drones as well.
