Honestly this sort of reaction scares me more than the actual killer. These are the people who helped feed Rodger's mentality and create a society that overlooks it. To say nothing of how they must treat women themselves. Ugh.

While it obviously doesn't help his victims, I'm finding a kind of gallow's humour-like satisfaction in the fact that he went to that sorority for "retribution" ... and they didn't even open the door.

I'd like to point to another event which is really brought to mind to me when I read this.

On December 6th, 1989 a gunman killed 14 women at École Polytechnique in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (i.e. where I live, École Polytechnique is the school of engineering affiliated with the University of Montreal). During his rampage, he had the option to kill men but specifically targeted WOMEN. One quote from the time of his rampage was, "I hate feminists."

One of the young women killed that day had been to my high school -so many people knew here at my school knew her (including my best friend at the time) that it was a real shock to all of us. December 6th was a somber day for every year after that.
