I mean, this an INFANT. He's not even a year old, he can't talk, can't walk, and certainly cannot throw a rock hard enough to even approach attempted murder.

Every once in a while I think that I live in a North American police state where corporations have all the power.

Eh, just because the problems are (for a relative measure) worse somewhere else, doesn't mean they aren't real here. Not being in the heads of those in charge, I can't say what they're thinking, but if I were taking over? Pointing out how bad things are in other countries is totally how I would distract from how shitty things were here. Keeping things relative is good, but it's not an either-or. There's no "it must be this bad before you can complain" bar, moved according to whatever crap dictatorship was in charge in a conveniently Scary Brown Foreign Land.
