Curtis Reeves’s son was late. So, at 1:04 p.m. on Jan. 13, Mr. Reeves, a retired police officer, sent his son a text, telling him that he and his wife had gone into the movie theater and were seated.

This seems especially ridiculous because other reports claimed that Reeves had verbally accosted the victim, and the victim told him he was texting his babysitter and it would take just a second.
Just an aside, but I hate how all the reports refer to him as a police officer, or retired police captain, as if that absolves him of anything.
