Meh. It's not to my tastes either, but it's not offensive (like little Aryan Nation _____ a few years back) and 99% of people will just know her as Della Richards.

Makes perfect sense to me.
Also, I like this: Before Della was conceived, the three started creating a written contract, outlining how their family would work.

I'm comfortable with the thought of three parents. Though I love them both, my step-mother raised me just as much as my biological mother did. That's obviously a bit of a different situation though, since my parents are separated...

This is an interesting precedent! And I hope it doesn't cause trouble for them down the way by ignorant bureaucrats. Lord knows there's plenty of those...
