That said, I'm looking forward to this November's elections in Kansas. When our incumbent governor has to have his Lt. Governor give him a $500,000 loan so his war chest is enough over the opponent to look good, and yet is either barely ahead or actually behind in the polls, that makes me smile!

Fun fact: New York was actually one of the first states in the US to fully legalize abortion. Prior to Roe v Wade, it was one of only 4 states where abortion was legal on request (without an extenuating circumstance like rape, incest, or health risks). (The others were WA, AL, and HI.) I was fortunate to be able to travel to New York to get a safe, legal abortion there in 1972, a full year before Roe v Wade, so I will always be a fan of NY and its sensible abortion laws.
It was SO different back then. No demonstrators, no harassment, no ugliness. *sigh* I HATE it when I hear what some women have to go through these days.
