A North Carolina detective is on leave after shooting a mentally ill teen who had reportedly already been subdued with a Taser.

Well, hope he has time for review boards, criminal proceedings (maybe, but I'm not holding my breath) and civil suit court appearances.

That cop is a huge flaming asshole. No two ways about it. I hope he goes down as far as it's possible to go.

These are the people that are supposed to "protect and serve". Seems to me we have more to fear from the police than the actual criminals.

This from WECT -BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - An internal investigation into the officer involved shooting in Boiling Spring Lakes has been completed.

It indicates that no law was violated by the officer that initially responded to the scene were a schizophrenic teen was shot and killed by an officer.

As far as I can tell this refers to only the first officer on the scene, who was not the one who murdered the young man. The first two responding officers have been cleared (the parents actually praised the second officer, saying she was 'great' with their son). The third officer on the scene, who was only there for 70 seconds (!?) before committing the murder, is still under investigation. I doubt he'll be made to pay for this disgusting act, but, unless I've misread the articles ( quite possible), he's not off the hook yet.

If civilization ever progresses again, "police" will become the epithet for people who are bad at whatever role is invented to replace police. "The law-helpers in this city are cops," they'll say, and others will scold them for the hyperbole of comparing their traffic penalties with the casual slaughter of innocents.
