I am actually surprised Oklahoma isn't going the 'the 10 Commandments is a historical legal document' route to explain why it can be displayed and this statue cannot.

Someone tried that in Virginia.

It got as far as the district court before it was dropped, I think.

Fucking morons. 'Faith based' - there is more than one faith, you utter jackasses. And even though i don't ascribe to any of them, i am loving their hypocrisy and their idiocy.

Go, Satanic Church!

This. This is the reason it pisses me off when I hear any kind of religious arguments against anything (usually gay marriage). There is more than one religion, and not all of them feel the same way.

from some of the stuff i've ever seen about satanism, sometimes i think i would more closely align with them some time (my averse to organized religion notwithstanding), than with Christianity (or at least, what is represented by the common most practices of Christianity in my personal experience, which is sanctimony and bigotry)

as for the statue, love love love the trolling

“This is a faith-based nation and a faith-based state,” Rep. Earl Sears (R-Bartlesville) said.

Oh hell no, you sanctimonious sack of shit. HELL FUCKING NO.
