This is really disrespectful of other people who have gone on hunger strike over human rights issues. Because usually people take that risk and those deprivations upon themselves because they themselves or others whom they want to support are having their rights infringed upon. Doing this to protest against others being granted rights that don't affect him in the slightest is so warped I can't even begin to understand his "reasoning".

That was exactly what I thought! This guy really doesn't deserve to have his name mentioned in the same breath as people who have risked their lives (and died in some cases) to speak out against horrible issues. This seems less like a hunger strike and more like a three year old throwing a tantrum and refusing to eat until he gets what he wants.
